World of Music and Arts was founded in 1997 and has been serving the Richmond community ever since. In September 2015, the school relocated to a large state-of-the-art facility in the Steveston neighbourhood, providing an excellent environment for music study.
Stories on Wheels - 11:00 am
STORIES on WHEELS is an original street theatre storytelling act for the whole family. Tales are brought to life by a high-energy comic performer, using beautifully illustrated picture cards displayed in a magnificent miniature wooden stage attached to the back a bicycle. Featuring gorgeous illustrations by local artists, as well as traditional picture cards from Japan, several short stories are told with music, dramatic action, and audience interaction.
TomoeKai - 11:30 am
TomoeKai Dance, based in Vancouver, teaches and presents traditional Nihon Buyō dance from the Hanayagi School repertoire throughout the Lower Mainland. Nihon Buyō is the distinctive form seen on Kabuki stages since the Edo era, and the Hanayagi school style was recently showcased in the hit film Kokuho.
Lulu the Mermaid with Matt Stapleton - 12:00 pm
Guided by wonder as much as by the tide, Lulu the Mermaid follows the songs of the water of distant places, passing ships, and adventures yet to unfold.
Matt Stapleton is a West Australian musician who moved to Vancouver in 2022. He sings, plays guitar and fiddle, and has been performing in bands since the 1980s. At the Festival he will be performing shanties and songs of the sea in his a unique and energetic style. Come along for a family friendly sing along experience.
Terrance Wang Yoyo - 12:30 pm
Terrance is 8 x Canadian National Yoyo Champion. He has been yoyoing for over 13 years, being world finalist for 3 x in a row at World Yoyo Championships in the past 3 years. Terrance performs using 2 different types of yoyo, 1A and 4A, 4A being offstring yoyo. His performance is high energy, paired with upbeat music. Be sure to check it out!
Oh Clementine - 10:30 am
Oh Clementine is a heartwarming family folk project led by Jessie Schellenberg, whose tender melodies and rich contemporary folk/bluegrass arrangements celebrate togetherness, childhood wonder, and the splendour of our natural world.
Vancouver Okinawa Taiko - 10:00 am
Vancouver Okinawa Taiko, founded in 2004, has been performing in numerous community festivals, charity functions and anniversary events for just over two decades. The group's aim is to promote and preserve Okinawan style drum-dancing Eisa, and to share Okinawan cultural heritage.
The Langley Ukulele Ensenble - 10:45 am
Over the course of 44 years, the group has developed a reputation at home and abroad for excellence in musical performance. The ensemble members range in age from 12 to 18 and are students attending middle and secondary schools.
Girl A Girl B - 11:30 am
Twins Elizabeth and Anita Eccleston band together with cellist Doug Gorkoff in this nostalgia folk pop trio presenting sublime covers and original songs in vocal harmony with their electrified ukuleles, horns and magic cello. They play tunes you forgot you knew that’ll sucker-punch you back in time.

Big Dirty Boots brings together the best of Country, bluegrass, folk & rock. The band is comprised of three talented musicians: Tad Ruszel on mandolin, guitar & vocals.
